Biggest Takeaways From My Retreat in “Bama

November 6, 2017

Have you ever been to Alabama? Well, I went for the first time a few weeks ago . . .

I’m part of a mastermind with 9 other women from around the country and we meet once a year in person. The rest of the year, we meet twice a month via zoom video conferencing. Since one of our lovely members lives in Birmingham, Alabama, we decided to go there and combine our rendezvous with a retreat being held by Edwene Gaines.

I had never heard of Edwene Gaines, Have you? Well, she totally rocks. She’s been holding retreats and workshops to help women lead lives of prosperity for over 35 years. I absolutely loved her and the retreat was really meaningful and fun.

Her book, The 4 Spiritual Laws of Prosperity, is a great read and I’ve heard the audio book is really entertaining because she’s hilarious and it’s fun to hear her tell her many stories. BUY IT HERE

One of the things Edwene challenged us to do was to face a fear and commit to taking action on it within the next six months. She admitted her fear was doing stand-up comedy (although she really wants to) so she IS doing it in New York City in December. I may have to go . . .

I started thinking about what my biggest fears are and I came up with these:

  1. Scuba diving – but I really could care less if I EVER do that. (Don’t tell scuba-loving boyfriend)
  2. A Zen-like Center. I also realized that I have always wanted some type of zen like retreat or wellness center. I mean I’ve been talking about it for at least 15 years so I must have some type of fear around it since I haven’t done it yet.

So . . . I committed to at least starting to look for a place (for #2 fear only) within the next 6 months.

It’s time to spend more time on holding my own workshops and retreats instead of attending others 🙂

What is your biggest fear and would you like to join me in this 6 month challenge? Reply and let me know what it is and what you will do in the next 6 months!
